Gathering Song

House of The Lord (Wickham)

Verse 1
We worship the God who was.
We worship the God who is.
We worship the God who evermore will be.
He opened the prison doors.
He parted the raging sea.
My God, He holds the victory.

Chorus
There's joy in the house of the Lord.
There's joy in the house of the Lord today.
And we won't be quiet.
We shout out Your praise.
There's joy in the house of the Lord.
Our God is surely in this place.
And we won't be quiet.
We shout out Your praise.

Verse 2
We sing to the God who heals.
We sing to the God who saves.
We sing to the God who always makes a way.
'Cause He hung up on that cross
then He rose up from that grave.
My God's still rolling stones away.

Chorus
There's joy in the house of the Lord.
There's joy in the house of the Lord today.
And we won't be quiet.
We shout out Your praise.
There's joy in the house of the Lord.
Our God is surely in this place.
And we won't be quiet.
We shout out Your praise.

Bridge
We were the beggars.
Now we're royalty.
We were the prisoners.
Now we're running free.
We are forgiven, accepted,
redeemed by His grace.
Let the house of the Lord sing praise.

Chorus (2x)
There's joy in the house of the Lord.
There's joy in the house of the Lord today.
And we won't be quiet.
We shout out Your praise.
There's joy in the house of the Lord.
Our God is surely in this place.
And we won't be quiet.
We shout out Your praise.

Affirmation of Faith

from the Korean Methodist Church

We believe in the one God,

creator and sustainer of all things, Father of all Nations,

the source of all goodness and beauty, all truth and love.

We believe in Jesus Christ,

God manifest in the flesh,

our teacher, example, and Redeemer, the Savior of the world.

We believe in the Holy Spirit,

God present with us for guidance, for comfort, and for strength.

We believe in the forgiveness of sins,

in the life of love and prayer,

and in grace equal to every need.

We believe in the Word of God

contained in the Old and New Testaments

as the sufficient rule both of faith and of practice.

We believe in the Church,

those who are united in the living Lord

for the purpose of worship and service.

We believe in the reign of God

as the divine will realized in human society,

and in the family of God,

where we are all brothers and sisters.

We believe in the final triumph of righteousness,

and in the life everlasting. Amen.

Oh For A Thousand Tongues To Sing (Wesley/Crowder)

Verse 1
Oh, for a thousand tongues to sing
my great Redeemer's praise,
the glories of my God and King,
the triumphs of His grace.

Verse 2
My gracious Master and my God,
assist me to proclaim,
to spread through all the earth abroad,
the honors of Thy name.

Chorus
So, come on and sing out,
let our anthem grow loud.
There is one great love: Jesus.

Verse 3
Jesus, the name that charms our fears,
that bids our sorrows cease,
'tis music in the sinner's ears,
'tis life and health and peace.

Verse 4
He breaks the pow'r of canceled sin,
He sets the pris'ner free.
His blood can make the foulest clean,
His blood availed for me.

Chorus
So, come on and sing out,
let our anthem grow loud.
There is one great love,
there is one great love: Jesus.

Verse 5
He speaks, and list'ning to His voice
new life the dead receive.
The mournful, broken hearts rejoice,
the humble poor believe.

Verse 6
Glory to God, and praise and love
be ever, ever giv'n
by saints below and saints above,
the church in earth and heav'n.

Chorus
So, come on and sing out,
let our anthem grow loud.
There is one great love,
there is one great love: Jesus.

Bridge
There are so few words
that never grow old.
There are so few words
that never grow old.
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.

Chorus 2
So, come on and sing out,
let our anthem grow loud.
There is one great love.
So, come on.
So, come on.
So, come on and sing out,
let our anthem grow loud.
There is one great love.
There is one great love.
There is one great love: Jesus.

Congregational Prayer & Lord's Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,
forever. Amen.

Graves Into Gardens (Maverick City)

Verse 1
I searched the world,
but it couldn't fill me.
Man's empty praise and treasures that fade
are never enough.
Then You came along
and put me back together.
And every desire is now satisfied
here in Your love.

Chorus
Oh, there's nothing
better than You. There's nothing
better than You. Lord, there's nothing,
nothing is better than You.

Verse 2
I'm not afraid
to show You my weakness.
My failures and flaws, Lord You've seen them all,
and You still call me friend.
'Cause the God of the mountain
is the God of the valley.
There's not a place Your mercy and grace
won't find me again.

Chorus (2x)
Oh, there's nothing
better than You. There's nothing
better than You. Lord, there's nothing,
nothing is better than You.

Bridge 1 (2x)
You turn mourning to dancing.
You give beauty for ashes.
You turn shame into glory.
You're the only one who can.

Bridge 2
You turn graves into gardens.
You turn bones into armies.
You turn seas into highways.
You're the only one who can.
You're the only one who can.

Chorus (2x)
Oh, there's nothing
better than You. There's nothing
better than You. Lord, there's nothing,
nothing is better than You.

Bridge 2 (2x)
You turn graves into gardens.
You turn bones into armies.
You turn seas into highways.
You're the only one who can.
You're the only one who can.

Scripture Reading

Jeremiah 18:1-6 (NRSV) [Read in Context]

1The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: 2Come, go down to the potter's house, and there I will let you hear my words. 3So I went down to the potter's house, and there he was working at his wheel. 4The vessel he was making of clay was spoiled in the potter's hand, and he reworked it into another vessel, as seemed good to him.

5Then the word of the Lord came to me: 6Can I not do with you, O house of Israel, just as this potter has done? says the Lord. Just like the clay in the potter's hand, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel.

The word of God for the people of God.

All: Thanks be to God!

Song Of Redemption (Sheets/King)

Verse 1
When I was an outcast, You said I belong.
You wrote a melody with all of my wrongs.
When my eyes were opened to all I had done,
I saw my sin, but You heard a song.

Verse 2
A song of redemption came forth on the cross.
You said it is finished; it is wrtten in blood.
You gave us a new name; we're daughters and sons.
Now we are raising this song to respond.

Chorus
Hallelujah, hallelujah.
Glorify His name forever.
It is Jesus, it is Jesus.
You have turned it all around.

Verse 3
Now we've been given this victory song,
that You're still writing as Your Kingdom comes.
Our hearts are open to all You can do,
'cause You're the composer and we're singing to You.

Chorus (2x)
Hallelujah, hallelujah.
Glorify His name forever.
It is Jesus, it is Jesus.
You have turned it all around.

Bridge (3x)
You make all things new.
You make all things new.
You make all things new.
I saw my sin, but You heard a song.

Tag
I saw my sin, but You heard a song.

Chorus
Hallelujah, hallelujah.
